Gabrielle Westgeest, an Alberta-born artist, has been passionate about art since childhood. Her formal artistic journey began in grade five, when she discovered a deep love for acrylic painting. After graduating high school, Gabrielle (known as Brie to her friends) spent several seasons working as a horseback guide and wrangler in Banff’s backcountry. Immersed in the rugged beauty of the wilderness, she developed an enduring connection to the landscapes she explored.

Inspired by the rugged terrain of the Canadian West, Gabrielle aims to share the unforgettable feeling of encountering these places for the first time. Over the past few years, she has been cultivating a distinct and personal artistic style that captures the true essence of wild western landscapes. Through her work, she invites viewers to step into the serenity, grandeur, and raw spirit of the backcountry she loves.
